Evergreen Cemetery Flag Placement

Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 9:00am to 12:00pm
Evergreen Cemetery, 2704 Alexandria Pike

Everyone is invited, even if you are not a scout. If you know another scouting unit, please ask them. We have had groups like American Heritage Girls & Girls Scouts also participate in the past and welcome their help.

Troop 751 is teaming up with Pack/Troop/Crew/Ship 437, Pack 751, VFW John R Little Post, and many other units to provide the service, but all that want to help are welcome to attend, including friends & families. Uniformed Scouts are needed to help decorate the graves of our America's veterans for Memorial Day.

On Saturday, We will be placing flags on the VA soldiers' lot (Section 25), the Civil War Section in front of Evergreen Cemetery, and putting flags on as many other soldiers as we can that supplies allow. Please come and help honor our servicemen & women for Memorial Day.

Scouts must be at the Cemetery at 8:45 AM for a 9:00 AM start.

Please stay as long as you can.

We met at the Administration Building located between the two entrances.

Dress in Full Class A

Instruction on proper flag etiquette will be provided onsite at 9 AM sharp. Grave marker flags will be distributed at the Cemetery.

Consider bringing a screwdriver to help make a starter hole in the ground. I suggest bringing a water bottle as well. This is an extensive cemetery, and we can use all the help we can get. This event is open to anyone wanting to help.

As in the past, free donuts will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
